OMG

i have 2 words for you: lamb burgers

we were very innocently doing our shopping at the co-op, trying to plan ahead so that we would have stuff on hand for the week ahead. sometimes it is such a hassle to have to go shopping, it's nice when we have supplies and/or leftovers for a few days.

so, i spied with my little eye: a pound of ground lamb in the meat case. i guess i had probably seen ground lamb in the meat case before, but it had never occurred to me to buy it, what would i do with ground lamb? so we bought some. i thought i would try my hand at making some lamb burgers.

i googled lamb burgers when i got home and printed out a few recipes. the one that sounded the best (or the easiest) was this one. the only thing i did differently was, i added some fresh chopped oregano (because we have a freakin' bush of it in our yard), and i forgot to salt and pepper the burgers before they went on the grill.

the end result was some of the yummiest stuff i have ever put in my mouth! the olives and the feta IN the burger: genius.
one pound made 3 burgers, so there is one left over for jak and i to split for lunch tomorrow!

we will be definitely be making them again (and again and again) maybe next time they will be around long enough to snap a picture. these ones got hoovered up immediately (and were washed down with a little tequila and orange juice)

i peppered the burgers for you (btw)
just 'cause i could not leave well enough alone!
they seemed like they would be salty enough what with the brined olives and feta

Whoa tequila and Orange Juice! Decadent!

Okay... I must admit, the lamb burgers sound delicious... but once you live in an area where you see new little lambs running and hopping around like silly idiots in the spring, it's hard to imagine them on your plate. Nonetheless, I will expect piccies the next time round!

I used to like a lamb burger as a beef burger substitute, but never got around to trying them at home... or really cooking any meat at home when I was eating it (too expensive most times I think)...

Baaaaaa!
