jak and i had a fun filled weekend with our visiting dignitary from the borough of brooklyn. we met up friday night and had a lovely bowling adventure at north bowl, which left us all with various aching body parts the next day.
on saturday we had a hearty breakfast of steel cut oats and made a plan to go and tour fonthill in doylestown pa. fonthill was quite the spectacular hunk of architecture, i say hunk, because the whole damn thing is made of concrete and amply decorated with handcrafted tiles, unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the affiliated mercer museum (all the more reason to make a return visit).
we had to get home because the short ribs that jak was going to braise in beer for dinner needed to cook for 3 hours. dinner turned out amazing & we washed it down with a bottle of wine and most of a bottle of dessert wine while having a passionate discussion about Art, talent and skill. post meal we snuggled up on the couch to watch the noodle western tampopo, which was ridiculous, and excellent, and so very 1985, and left us all desperately craving noodles, even with our full bellies.
